Today we went back to the adoption center to offically sign the adoption papers. We had 24hrs to be with Myah and determine that we wanted her. I must say that yesterday when we were there we met a couple who were from Virginia. they were adopting a 7 yr old girl. The child did not want to go with the new adoptive parents, she would not allow them to even get close to her. She did not want to be adopted. We ran into this couple after dinner on the island and they told us that the child was not adoptable and would return to the orphanage. So they are childless! If there is not another child that is paper ready then thry will return home without a child. It broke our hearts.
We went to dinner tonight at a local restauraunt named Lucy's. They serve western food. We learned another thing today about Myah..what she loved to eat yesterday is not necessarily what she will like to eat today. We gave her some french fries and she took it off her plate and then cleaned it with a napkin. She hates a mess. She had noodles with egg. She WILL NOT drink anything that is white or resembles milk. So we ventured over to an underground grocery store to buy her soy chocolate milk.. she drank the entire thing. Ohh and by the way I was taking pictures inside the gracery store and I was tapped on the shoulder and told to delete the pictures..What's the deal with pictures around here? hank keeps reminding me that this is a communist country.......
We came back to the room and we all took a nap...Myah's orphanage didnt have air conditioning and our hotel does. So she is shivering all the time.. She loves her sweat jacket that I bought her cause it has a hood. She loves hats...Devon guard your baseball caps.
I think tonight we will walk Pearl River and meet some locals...Everyone speaks English around here. so its not very hard t navigate around.
Boys I love you and I will meet you on skype/webcam tonight. I have to tell you about Myah and how she hates steps. When she sees a step she wants to be picked up. You guys are going to have to teach her how to use them. I am sure you boys can do that.

Love the pictures. She seems so at ease with the two of you. She's a perfect fit!

So glad to hear that your little Missy is adjusting so well. Ya'll are sooo precious together.
I'll be sure to pack Emily's sweater and maybe pick up a casual sweat jacket, etc. Nice to know info that SWI didn't have a/c and room will seem cold. I can prepare!
Will you get to go to SWI? SOOOOO curious about that.
I'm going on the "ain't eatin' that" plan when I get to China.
LOVE the pictures!!!

That is so odd about making you delete the pictures. I took pictures in the airport there and the grocery store in the local market on the other side of the river in Guangzhou. I think this has something to do with the Olympics. Because no one asked me to delete my pictures in May!
Myah looks so cute and sweet. Give her lots of hugs! I hope we get to meet her one day!

Vicki, we haven't heard word on whether the SWI will lalow us to tour...Curious how Myah will react or not react to going back there.
Chelsea,
Elsie was shocked when the security pulled us aside and had us delete our photos. It must be because of the Olympics. security is high here. I thought it was cool to be in the underground supermarket with piles of rice and all the cured fish. I was snapping away. I am not having luck with security.
