Today was Red Couch day. Our group headed down to the 2nd floor of our hotel, the White Swan, to take the tradition 'red couch' adoption picture. It's tradition that adoptive families take a picture on the red couch to commemorate their time in China. It started, because so many adoptive families stayed here at this hotel, which just happened to have red couches in their lobby. It is a tradition for adoptive families to do this prior to leaving.
After we had about an hour before we all were going to a Cantonese restaurant. As we were waiting in our room Tracy called and said she was down in the lobby with Bree. (Myah's friend from the orphanage). I was very interested on how they would react to seeing each other again. Well my tears were flowing before I even got down to the Swan room (playroom). As we approached Bree they naturally gravitated toward each other and bree shared her cherrios with Myah. We entered the playroom and Bree and Myah sat next to each other on the rug as Bree fed Myah her food. Myah got up and gathered a bunch of toys and positioned them within arms reach so that Bree could play. Myah had no desire to play in the playroom, she sat next to Bree and was content with doing just that. Loyal she has remained to her sister friend...!
We will catch up with them before we leave.
Off to the Cantonese restaurant. Our coordinator treated us to dinner. there was a big lazy susan on the table and we all had to share and try different foods..Ok, those who know me know I have issues with this..but I went with the flow...

Beautiful pics! Can't wait to see u guys in 4 days! Right now, kids have no school as we're enduring Tropical Storm Fay here...you have to see Ken outside trying to take water out of the pool in high mph winds - the hose is flying everywhere... Meanwhile, sister-friend, you might want to check the weather channel - there's a Typhoon on its way - passing thru the Phillipines and perhaps China - (what's a typhoon again?) -

The pictures are beautiful. I was so excited when I logged on and saw more of them. Myah looks beautiful in lavender and I am LOVING the Crocs! Mom looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL and content too I might add! PS, I would have issues with the whole food/lazy susan thing too.
I can't believe the boys are already getting a day off. We cross toes and fingers up here to get a snow day--delays are the new thing up here in NY.
The weather is sunny and warm in NY--I guess the rain is staying South--I should turn Noggin off and maybe listen to the weather in other parts of the country once in awhile--I had no idea a storm ws even brewing.
You are in our thoughts and prayers daily. We are counting the days until you are all home safe and sound:)
Love and kisses to all:)

Elly and Annette,
Listen I am getting on that plane and coming home..We have had enough and I am missing my boys, bed, shower, home cooked meals, my gym and dying to drink water...can't drink the water around here...We have had appt after appt...we are trying to squeeze naps in too..I have no routine and am off sync. Hank and I were in the elevator today clicking our heels and saying "there's no place like home"
Hey there--hang in there. Just a few more days and then home free....
I don't do well when I don't have a routine or overwhelmed. Just remember to breathe--it helps and of course a little squeeze or two from your daughter helps too!
Hang in there--sending you hugs:)

Wow - I hope that Lazy Susan had your favorite fixins - You know, our traditional homemade spaghetti with marinara sauce, with fresh rolled meatballs, mozzarella with basil and olive oil, broccholi rabe aglia olio, and fresh Italian Bread with sesame seeds - shavings of romano/pecorino cheese and homemade wine. MMMM..mmmm. Cheers!
