Dad the last 2 pictures are of a man making screws and nails and the last picture would be your Home Depot store. Sorry they don't have gift cards for the holidays...Hank and I have a running joke that Annette would not last 30 seconds here in China... Click on the pictures to get a closer view.
All in all, the chinese are very proud of their heritage and lead a rather simple life. Our guide Elsie told us that the income for most of the locals is 1500 RMB/Yuan a month which is equivalent to $220.58 a month... For every US dollar we get 6.80 RMB/Yuan. To give you an idea we ordered a BLT with fries and it was 10 RMB/Yuan which equals $1.47. Tipping is discouraged.
I wasn't grasping the RMB and Yuan...They both mean the same thing..sort of like how we say dollars or bucks..

Leon,
Hank and I are up (its about 5am) We are still not used to the time change. So we sit here watching Tv (in chinese).Your comment was friggen hysterical. A Monte Cristo -cuban cigar is about 25 US dollars. Hank has not had a chance to even smoke one cigar, YET. There is one guy in our group that smokes and I think they are scheduled for a playdate.
Hank tried to buy a t-shirt and their xxxl is our medium in size. He was never so insulted. The funny thing is the lady insisted that that is the way they wear them in China...just like belly shirts
